Quella del “Tennis Club Match Ball Bra” è una storia iniziata nel 1981 e costellata da piccoli e grandi traguardi raggiunti grazie alla fruttuosa sinergia tra i vertici del sodalizio, rappresentati dal presidente Domenico Dogliani e i fratelli Puci, gestori di un circolo tra i più prestigiosi del panorama tennistico regionale.

Il “Match Ball” inizia l’attività di scuola tennis con il maestro savonese Umberto Mattei al quale si succedono il torinese Franco Belli e il cuneese Moreno Baccanelli.

Nel 1987 si affaccia alla ribalta del tennis provinciale Massimo Puci, che dal 1995 diventa il responsabile tecnico. In quegli stessi anni il Tennis Club dimostra il proprio valore anche sotto il profilo agonistico, iscrivendo le proprie squadre ai campionati di serie B e C maschile e femminile. Nel 2003 la Federazione Italiana Tennis premia il circolo assegnandogli l’organizzazione della massima competizione nazionale individuale: il Campionato Italiano di 2° categoria. La fiducia viene ripagata con una manifestazione spettacolare e riconfermata anche cinque anni più tardi, nell’inverno 2008 quando la FIT ha affidato al circolo l’organizzazione delle fasi finali dei Campionati Italiani a squadre maschile e femminile, il primo evento trasmesso in diretta dal canale satellitare monotematico Supertennis. Grande soddisfazione per la buona riuscita della manifestazione che ha visto scendere in campo, seguiti da un folto pubblico, i più grandi talenti italiani ed il beniamino del circolo Andrey Golubev (n° 89 Atp, best ranking a dicembre 2008), kazako di passaporto, ma braidese per residenza e per spirito, che dal 2002 ha fatto del Tennis Club la propria casa.

The Match Ball Tennis Club story began 28 years ago, and grew quickly thanks to the fruitful synergy of a collaboration between the president, Domenico Dogliani, and the Puci brothers, who in 1981 took charge and turned the facility into one of the most prestigious in the entire Italian tennis circuit, not just Piemonte. Within three years, Match Ball opened a tennis school under the tutelage of Umberto Mattei of Savona. A few years later, the responsibility was transferred to Franco Belli of Torino, and then to Moreno Baccanelli, and then in 1987 it was turned over to Massimo Puci, who in 1995 was named Operations Manager. During his reign the facility began to show its competitive spirit, when both male and female teams became part of the Series C championships, as well as forming the only female Series B in the province. A male Series B was unveiled soon after. In 2003 the Italian tennis Federation gave the facility its highest award for individual competition: the second category Italian Championship, in which Fabio Maggi was triumphant. This trust was amply repaid with a spectacular show, and this success was repeated again five years later, when the Fit entrusted to the facility one of the most important events: the finals of the Italian Tennis Squad, the first to be broadcast live on the Supertennis channel. The response was overwhelmingly positive for the event, during which players from TC Alba, as well as many from Bra (town of the "Zizzola"), took the court. Also participating was Andrey Golubev, Kazak by birth but a Bra resident in both fact and spirit, who since 2002 has made Bra and our tennis club his home, and from which he frequently ventures forth to take part in the most prestigious tennis events, accompanied by his coach, Massimo Puci, and his collaborators.
